Why Should You Support Adopt A At-Risk Veteran (AARV)?

Veterans Helping Veterans Make A Difference Today!

Concerned about the ever-growing homeless and at-risk veteran population, Vietnam veteran John Meyer was moved to create a 501c3 nonprofit AARV.

Through donations, AARV is able to fund veteran-specific programs including housing, food, clothing, groceries, job training, and more, to help support those who have so bravely served our country.

Behind AARV

AARV is a nonprofit organization started by US veterans for veterans to support those in need. Because more than one in ten homeless adults is a veteran, it’s AARV’s mission to help change this statistic.

When you adopt a veteran through AARV, you’re providing them the essentials to get through each day and helping them find hope. There are many ways you can get involved to bring healing to an at-risk or homeless vet.

The People Of AARV

AARV wouldn’t exist without the support of the AARV team.

  • John Meyer - Vietnam veteran and founder of AARV.
  • Jeff Collins - Marine Corp. veteran and volunteer coordinator.
  • Sylvia Jones - Corporate treasurer and VP.
  • Steve Baker - Consultant to AARV.

All of the people behind AARV bring a wealth of knowledge and experience when it comes to providing veterans with support. Together they empathetically take on at-risk and homeless veterans to reassure that somebody cares.

AARV Events

AARV events are just one of the many ways you can get involved. From Texas Hold’em tournaments to holiday dinners with appearances from Santa and musical talent Dennis Agajanian — this is the perfect way to get out and have a great time for a worthy cause.

Additional support for veterans can be found through organizations including:
