Operation Desert Aid
We have a 'Real-life Emergency' in our community. Many of our homeless community are VETERANS who are ill equipped for what lays ahead this winter. AARVorg Inc. Aka Adopta At-Risk Veteran and Volunteer and Community Partners are undertaking the task of providing needed cold weather clothing, new & used.
Known as OPERATION WINTER AID your help is needed. We have already collected enough clothes to outfit 10 men & 6 women camping in the desert. This has been accomplished by Michelle Smith, Mental Health America (MHA-LA), Jeff Collins, Vice President AT&T pioneers Coastal Valley Council, Steve Hofbauer, Palmdale Mayor, John Meyer of AARV and his staff and Lt's. Joshua and Chelcee Humphrey at the Lancaster Salvation Army. Unfortunately, this is only a dent in the program.
Our VETERANS, many with mental health issues, deserve better living conditions. Please help us with our mission to bring this about. Your donations will help us provide the winter clothing, shelter, food & support needed for them to survive this winter.
Cash donations can be made at www.aarvorg.org using PAYPAL. We need to purchase underwear, beanie hats, socks and gloves. Coats, blankets and other cold weather clothing can be dropped off at these locations:
